  • Videos or audio files saved on your device
  • Stable internet connection
  • Browser with HTML5 support

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Access the Media Library

Log into your Pimosa account and click on Media Library in the main navigation menu. This will open your media management dashboard where all imported files are stored.
You can also press Ctrl+M (Cmd+M on Mac) to quickly access the Media Library
2

Click the Import Button

In the Media Library, locate and click the Import Media button in the top-right corner. This will open the import dialog with various import options.
3

Choose Import Method

Select your preferred import method:
  • Upload from Device - Import files directly from your computer
  • Cloud Import - Connect Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive
  • URL Import - Import from direct file URLs
Cloud import is faster for large files and doesn't count against your upload bandwidth
4

Select Files to Import

If uploading from device, click Browse Files and select your video or audio files. For cloud import, authenticate with your cloud provider and browse to select files. You can select multiple files by holding Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac) while clicking.
Pimosa supports drag-and-drop - you can drag files directly into the import window
5

Configure Import Settings

Before importing, configure these settings:
  • Quality - Choose Original, High, Medium, or Compressed
  • Format Conversion - Enable to auto-convert to web-friendly formats
  • Folder Destination - Select which folder to import into
Enable format conversion for better compatibility across different devices and browsers
6

Add Metadata and Tags

Fill in the metadata fields:
  • Title - Give your media a descriptive name
  • Description - Add context or notes
  • Tags - Add searchable keywords separated by commas
  • Category - Select from predefined categories
Good metadata makes your files easier to find and organize later
7

Start the Import Process

Review your selections and click Start Import. A progress bar will show the upload and processing status. You can continue working in Pimosa while files import in the background.
Large files may take several minutes to process - you'll receive a notification when complete
8

Verify Imported Files

Once import is complete, your files will appear in the Media Library. Click on each file to preview it and ensure it imported correctly. Check that the audio/video plays properly and metadata is displayed correctly.
Use the filter options to quickly locate your newly imported files

Common Issues & Troubleshooting

File format not supported error

Pimosa supports MP4, AVI, MOV, WMV for video and MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC for audio. Convert unsupported formats using a tool like HandBrake or Audacity before importing.

Upload fails or times out

Check your internet connection and try again. For large files over 2GB, use the Cloud Import feature instead of direct upload, or split large files into smaller segments.

Imported video has no sound

This usually indicates an audio codec issue. Re-export your video with AAC audio codec, or enable Format Conversion during import to let Pimosa automatically fix codec compatibility.

Files imported but not visible in library

Clear your browser cache and refresh the page. Also check the Folder filter in Media Library - your files might be in a different folder than expected.
