Common Issues & Troubleshooting
Audio sounds robotic or unnatural after applying enhancements
Reduce the AI Noise Reduction strength to level 3-4 and disable Voice Enhancement temporarily. Check that your microphone input levels aren't too low, as over-processing quiet audio can cause artifacts.
System audio ducking not working properly
Ensure Screen Studio has Accessibility permissions in macOS System Preferences. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility and verify Screen Studio is checked and enabled.
Microphone not appearing in input device list
Check your microphone connection and verify it appears in System Preferences > Sound > Input. If using USB microphones, try disconnecting and reconnecting. Restart Screen Studio after connecting new audio devices.
Audio enhancements causing recording delays or lag
Disable Real-time Processing in Audio Settings to apply enhancements during export instead. This reduces CPU load during recording but means you won't hear enhanced audio in real-time monitoring.
