Clips won't trim or cuts aren't working
Make sure the clip is selected (highlighted in blue) and you're using the correct tool. Press V for selection tool or B for blade tool. Check that the clip isn't locked by looking for a lock icon.
Audio and video become out of sync after cutting
Right-click on the clip and select Link Audio and Video to keep them synchronized. If already linked, try selecting both tracks before making cuts.
Trimmed clips leave black gaps in timeline
This happens when clips don't snap together. Select all clips after the gap and drag them left to close the space, or use Ripple Delete by pressing Shift+Delete when deleting segments.
Can't see trim handles or cursor changes
Zoom into the timeline using Cmd/Ctrl + Plus for better precision. Make sure you're hovering exactly over the clip edges and the clip is selected first.
