Common Issues & Troubleshooting
MultiHop option is grayed out or unavailable
Ensure you have an active Surfshark subscription that includes MultiHop feature. Some basic plans may not include this feature. Check your subscription status in Account Settings.
Connection speed is significantly slower with MultiHop
This is normal due to double encryption. Try selecting server combinations closer to your location, or switch to a different MultiHop pair. You can also try changing the VPN protocol in Settings → Advanced.
Cannot connect to specific MultiHop combinations
Some server combinations may be temporarily unavailable. Try a different combination or check Surfshark's server status page. Restart the app and try connecting again.
Apps or websites not working with MultiHop enabled
Some services may block traffic from certain server locations. Try switching to a different MultiHop combination, or temporarily disable MultiHop for specific apps using Surfshark's split tunneling feature in Settings → Bypasser.
