Common Issues & Troubleshooting
Cannot find multicurrency option in Features
Ensure you have administrator access to your Xero organization. Multicurrency may not be available in some older Xero subscription plans - check your plan details or contact Xero support.
Exchange rates not updating automatically
Verify your internet connection and check that Automatic exchange rates is selected for each currency. If rates still don't update, manually refresh them by going to Settings > Currencies and clicking Update Rates.
Base currency shows as incorrect in reports
The base currency cannot be changed once transactions are recorded. If you need to change it, you'll need to start a new Xero organization or contact Xero support for migration options.
Foreign currency transactions showing wrong amounts
Check your exchange rate settings and ensure the correct rate type (Buy/Sell/Mid) is selected. Verify that the exchange rate date matches your transaction date, and consider using manual rates for more control over conversions.
